Holistic Veterinary Consultants will never use your personal information to engage in unsolicited marketing campaigns.
Any client who is currently involved in text message communication with HVC and wishes to cease communicating in this manner can simply notify us either by text message or in person or by telephone, and text messages will immediately cease.
In the future HVC may offer appointment and other reminders via text message on an opt-in basis.

Holistic Veterinary Consultants (hereinafter HVC) respects your privacy. Regarding our website, holisticveterinaryconsultants.com, we do not collect personal data and we do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. HVC will never share your personal information with anyone.
For the purpose of this notice personal information or personal data shall be defined as any information that can be used to identify a person. It can range from basic information, like a person’s name or phone number, to intricate details, including biometric data and location tags.

What Information Do We Collect?
HVC does collect your personally identifying information when you provide it to us directly. For example, personal information that you give us in person, over the phone, and/or electronically that is required when you become a client. This information is encrypted and stored securely by a third party. It is never shared with anyone.
When you visit our website certain anonymous technical information is collected, such as your internet protocol (IP) address, your browser and version, your time zone setting, and various operating system/platform information.
How Do We Use Your Information?
Your personal information, however provided to us, will be used for the purposes specified in this notice.
In particular we use your information to provide you with veterinary patient/pet services, treatment, products, or information that you have requested as a client of HVC.
We use your information for billing purposes for veterinary services rendered, products purchased, and for information that you have requested and obtained at our clinic, on the road on location at your residence, and for telephone appointments.
We also use your information to answer your questions/requests, and to communicate with you in general.
Additionally, we may use your information for the purposes of mail and/or email marketing campaigns, and for appointment and shot/vaccination reminders. We will NEVER use your information for these types of communication without your consent.
Lastly, we may use your information for any other reasonable purpose not covered here, but commonly associated with the business of veterinary medicine.
How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?
HVC keeps certain information for as long as you are a patient at our clinic. The Code of Virginia regulations also require that veterinary medical records be maintained for a period of three years after the last office visit or the date the animal is discharged from the veterinary facility.
Will We Share Your Personal Information?
HVC will never share your personal information without your consent. In the course of providing medically necessary treatment to your pet we may request permission to share certain information with third parties, such as lab work, x-rays, medical history, and all information commonly associated with veterinary treatment.
We will never share your personal information with advertisers or third party marketing agencies for the purposes of advertising.
Security/Storage of and Access to Your Personal Information
HVC is committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure, and we have appropriate and proportionate security policies, and organizational and technical measures in place to help protect your information. For example, your personal information is only accessible to appropriately trained staff and is stored on secure servers with features enacted to prevent unauthorized access.
In general, the personal information that we collect from you is stored with a vetted third party at a destination within the United States.
Exercising Your Rights
Right of access – you can write to us to ask for confirmation of what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of that information. Generally, this includes whatever personal information was provided when you first became a client at HVC and will never include any information pertaining to billing, such as credit card or bank account numbers.
Right of deletion – at your request and where you are entitled to, we will delete your personal information from our records as far as we are required and allowed to do so within the language of the Code of Virginia governing veterinary records.
Right of rectification – if you believe that our records of your personal information are inaccurate you have the right to ask for those records to be updated. You may also request that we verify the personal information we hold about you if you are unsure of accuracy.
Other rights – you may have other rights concerning your data that are not listed here.

We may update this notice from time to time. So please check back periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by contacting you directly using your preferred method of communication and placing a notice on our website. This notice was updated on June 24, 2024.
